Good day my good friend.
Lots to do and not enough time to do it. So lets get to the point shall we?
📕 I have co-authored a book on Mobility-as-a-Service, which is a comprehensive guide on this important new transport service. It is available from the Institution of Engineering and Technology and now Amazon.
💼 I am also available for freelance transport planning consultancy, through my own company Mobility Lab. You can check out what I do here.
🤔 Some interesting bits
Cognitive biases play a role in transport decisions. We all know it, but do we recognise it? I’m not so sure. This is why this new research paper into just this is so useful. Read it, reflect on it, and maybe try doing something about it.
Looks like we will be hearing about Dijon in France over the coming days. The Times has an excellent article on this city over the weekend, that is worthy of a read. Thanks to Stephen Frost on Bluesky, the York Civic Trust did an excellent write up on the city, that apparently Louise Haigh is a fan of.
Trams have made a comeback in France over the last 20-30 years. This excellent research article from 2017 chronicles how this came about, and the lessons learned from it.
The International Transport Forum has published a report on the fairness of different fares policies that is well worth a read. Many of the recommendations are no shock, but the analysis is good.
