Good day my good friend.
Lots to do, lots to report. So let’s get on with it.
📕 I have co-authored a book on Mobility-as-a-Service, which is a comprehensive guide on this important new transport service. It is available from the Institution of Engineering and Technology and now Amazon.
💼 I am also available for freelance transport planning consultancy, through my own company Mobility Lab. You can check out what I do here.
😃 Good things going on
The other day I was at Transport Planning Day, and some awards for some amazing people were shared that you need to know about. First is to good friend Nicola Waight for becoming Transport Planner of the Year, a gong well deserved. As is Hannah Donovan who won Young Transport Planner of the Year. While finally a special mention to Lynda Addison for a lifetime achievement award that is well deserved (now go have a rest for once Lynda, you work harder than me!).
Glasgow Bus Station, which is currently a…um…experience, is getting a redesign. Which should be welcomed by a good many people.
Speaking of buses in Scotland, in Aberdeen they are planning to use bus gate fines to fund late night buses. So perhaps people being idiots is a good thing.
Down in Somerset meanwhile, bus electrification is going some guns. As First have managed to upgrade the electricity supply at two of their depots. Well, if you want electric buses, you need to make sure you don’t crash the entire grid when you plug them in.
Will batteries replace diesel trains, and are they safe? QTWTAIY (if you don’t know what that means, Google it).
