Good day my good friend.
According to the Met Office weather app that I have, its forecast to be hot weather in the UK at the time that you receive this. So go and enjoy that. Or better yet, enjoy this while enjoying that.
Mobility Camp is back, and the number one transport unconference is heading to York on Friday 20th September. Book your tickets now! 🎫
I have co-authored a book on Mobility-as-a-Service, which is a comprehensive guide on this important new transport service. It is available from the Institution of Engineering and Technology and now Amazon.
😃 Good stuff going on
Birkinhead on Merseyside is due to get some ‘glider’ buses within a few weeks. I welcome these being called glider buses, because some people have tried to pass them off as trams. Which they are not.
Meanwhile, over in West Yorkshire, buses are due to start 24 hour operation between Bradford and Leeds. Which is excellent news for all communities concerned.
I know that cycle maps get a lot of bed rep from some parts of the online community. But I find them incredibly useful. In Oxfordshire, they have produced a new one that is especially useful for beginners.
For people in London trying to encourage under-represented groups to get into cycling more, the London Cycle Campaign, Lime, and Loud Mobility (with the always-excellent Georgia Yexley) have launched a fund that can help you with any work that needs doing. Find out more about it here.
Meanwhile, local to me, a cycle club for those people in wheelchairs got some much-needed funding. They specialise in helping those who have had strokes to get back in the saddle and get active. Which is very welcome indeed.
