Good day my good friend.
I don’t just write here, you know! I do publish articles in other places, and while life is a bit crazy and emotional for me right now, I thought I would give a couple of my most recent articles a boost.
SRITC response to the Islands Connectivity Plan
I recently wrote a response to the Scottish Government’s Islands Connectivity Plan on behalf of the Scottish Rural and Islands Transport Community, which you can see in full here or in a blog here. The islands of Scotland face a lot of connectivity issues, paramount among them being the ageing ferry fleet breaking down all the time. This response focussed on this being the priority issue, along with issues of affordability, poor connections, and not understanding the needs of island communities earlier.
Where is MaaS going? Its complicated…
Me and good friend Beate Kubitz co-authored an article based on our book on Mobility as a Service. It was originally published in Local Transport Today, but has now been published on the TAPAS Network website. We cover a lot of ground, but the most important thing is not to see MaaS as a one-size fits all solution, but as a suite of tools to help.
(Oh, and here is something slightly fun for you to think about – there is a link between the logo that I used for this post, and its title. Can you guess it? British readers might have a slight advantage)
😍 Mobility Camp is back
Its funny, you know. How in this really bad time having something positive to hold onto really means a lot. And in September I will be helping organise a whole event on positive vibes in transport. Mobility Camp is returning on 30th September at the wonderful Guildhall in York.
It will be amazing to see you all there. You can get your tickets here, but if you want to do a little more then we are looking for sponsors too, details of which you can find here.
